Ex-Miss World Rolene Strauss welcomes another bundle of joy

Rolene Strauss, the 2014 Miss South Africa winner, recently gave birth to her third child.

The third Miss World winner from South Africa, Strauss, announced the arrival of her son on Monday morning.

The mother of three boys has been opening up to her fans about her pregnancy journey and her experience getting exposed to HIV.

In October 2023, she shared that she would give birth in May but missed the month of May by two days.

Exposed to HIV

“After the birth of our first son back in 2017, I was completing my medical studies and was exposed to HIV while treating a patient at a hospital during my call one evening,” she wrote.

“I was breastfeeding at the time and had to go on post-exposure prophylaxis. I can still remember all the questions [even as a medical student] running through my head at the time.”

After she was crowned Miss World in London in 2014, Strauss and her husband, D’Niel, got engaged in December of that year.

The couple exchanged wedding vows on February 6, 2016, at the Laurent Wedding Venue in Somerset West, Western Cape.

In celebration of her four-year wedding anniversary, Strauss took to Instagram in 2020 to share some never-before-seen images.

Regular, stronger contractions

She revealed a week ago that she began experiencing regular, stronger contractions, eerily reminiscent of the way her youngest son’s labour began in 2020, when she was 39 weeks and two days pregnant.

“Our dearest love arrived yesterday [Sunday] afternoon at 40 weeks and four days, weighing 4.14kg. @officialdanielstrauss and my mom never left my side.

“The boys drew hearts on my forearms before we left for the hospital; this kept me going through labour.

“They adore their baby brother. We are both healthy, happy and healing.”
