Gcina Mkhize hasn’t moved out of her home despite months of eviction attempts

Award-winning actress Gcina Mkhize has revealed that she still stays at her home in Mondeor, south of Joburg.

Mkhize revealed this on The Voice with Palesa podcast, stating that she believes the mafia syndicate is trying to sell her house, but she will not move out.

The veteran thespian trended seven months ago when she shared videos of her home, from which she claimed she was being illegally evicted.

Windows get smashed

She still remains at her home. And although every time she fixes the windows, they get smashed. She has opted to use plastic to cover up the windows of her home.

“I am still at the house that is my children’s and my home. Where will I go?” The South African law has failed me and my kids so much, they dismiss everything.

“I still say there is a syndicate that deals with stealing people’s homes. The police are involved, people from the bank and the courts. I might be wrong, but it is what I believe,” said Mkhize.

Two male strangers share house with her

In September, Mkhize said she and her two daughters were sharing their contested
home with two male strangers. She said she was refusing to vacate the house and was awaiting an eviction order. The eviction order was from a man who claims to have purchased her home from an auction after she failed to make her monthly instalment payments.

Meanwhile, Mkhize, 52, said her two awards that she has won now do not mean anything to her. And that is because she does not identify as an actor anymore.

“I grappled with it in the beginning. It did not make sense to me that with the work that I have done, the industry would still treat me the way that it did. I felt discarded by the industry. I felt like someone was trying to punish me or being spiteful towards me. It got to a point where I started questioning my talent.

Production houses told not to cast her

“Later I discovered that there was communication from someone instructing people not to cast me for anything. I was not to be cast until I come back and apologise to those people. The bad thing is that that person is going to wait forever. I will not apologise to anyone.”

Sunday World’s attempts to contact Mkhize were unsuccessful.

The actress also revealed that she too has experienced witchcraft in show business. This from someone she used to sit and laugh with and considered as a sister.
