It is the season when brands launch their newest editions of gadgets and the competition is tight.
This week Shwa headed out to the launch of the new Samsung Z Flip 5 in Rosebank, as well as the iPhone store relaunch in Sandton.
Your favourite gossip girl felt important for a hot minute.
At the Galaxy Fliptown event moi got to play, create shareable content and explore digital fashion.
The experience began with Shwa getting dolled up by make-up artists who interpreted the Fliptown look with Y2K designs and colours.
The guests also got a chance to do their nails with the nail printer and got a chance to add selfies on their fingernails.
After the cosmetic tuning, Shwa got to unfold into fashion.
Designer Thebe Magugu came out wearing black. Not sure why all designers are opting to wear this colour lately – just know David Tlale did it first.
Magugu has his finger in every pie these days. He designed the digital outfits that are inspired by the new phone. Talk about fusing technology with fashion. Oh, and Boo, Shwa loves your recent soccer jersey design for Orlando Pirates – never mind what the haters are saying.
MC of the day was none other than Y’s Fresh by Caddy who tried to keep the guests entertained at the event with his whack sense of humour.
As Shwa was chilling, she spotted the Lazy Makoti who was out and about for a change and out of the kitchen. Baby girl looked so good in a black number and a blue coat. In another lifetime Makoti would be Shwa’s life partner – she’s so sweet.
Shwa also spotted Mama Lamiez Holworthy-Morule who was with her mom cum manager.
Lamiez was looking like her pre-pregnancy days wearing a jumpsuit. It was refreshing to see her there as a guest and not on the decks for a change. Just when you thought it was a mommy and daughter thing, Khuli Chana came along and joined them too. I guess the entire family was out at work securing the bag.
It was good to see Siphesihle Ndaba out to play with other kids for a change. By the way Shwa is curious to know what you are busy with ever since you left Gomora? Or are you just going to ride the influencer wave too?
Who would have thought Masechaba Khumalo, who looked like she was attending a fashion show but with a silky gown, also came through to the event not quite sure what she was doing there. Shwa hopes you are enjoying being a mom.
Shwa also spotted K Naomi, Siya Bunny and Sabelo the Creator.
