I am actually in a season of abundance, declares Chymamusique

Award-winning DJ and music producer Collen Ntala Mmotla, popularly known by his stage name Chymamusique, has refuted claims that he is down and out.

On Monday evening, Chymamusique took to social media to refute a media report that claimed he was not ashamed of his financial situation.

The DJ had initially stated: “I’m not ashamed of my brokenness. I’m working daily to repair every possible damage with the help of God through prayer, music, conversations, working out, food, and helping other people while I’m on my own recovery journey.”

Chymamusique claimed he was perplexed to receive calls and messages from people, including Prince Kaybee, who were asking how he was doing.

Not ashamed of being broken

“False news; no wonder I am getting many calls. I said I’m not ashamed of being broken, not broke,” wrote the God is Good hitmaker.

“I am actually in a season of abundance, thanks to the most high God.”

He explained that he felt broken when he lost people he loved dearly in 2005 and 2015 and also fell very ill but has, however, healed.

In an effort to encourage men to talk about their challenges, relationships, mental health, and fatherhood, Chymamusique organised a men’s conference.

One-hundred and fifty men participated in Chymamusique’s first Ecue Men’s Camp and Retreat, which he hosted over the weekend.

Camp for rest, retreat, and networking

The conference’s main objective was to provide a forum where men could freely discuss their experiences without worrying about being judged.

Ecue Men’s Camp and Retreat, named after Chymamusique’s hometown of Diphale in Limpopo, near Burgersfort, helped men deal with a host of challenges that they grapple with every day.

Men aged between 23 and 65 were encouraged to join the camp for rest, retreat, planning, storytelling, networking, and friendship.

Chymamusique started his musical career in the early 2000’s as a pianist before becoming a DJ.

His third studio album, Musique, debuted at number one in South Africa.
