Entrepreneur and musician Tabure Thabo Bogopa Junior, professionally known as JR, together with Chris Ghelakis announced the successful completion of their partnership.
The two record companies, Feel Good Music, founded by JR and legendary record company CSR Records founded by Chris Ghelakis will now operate under Feel Good CSR.
Speaking to Sunday World about the partnership, Bogopa said he chose to partner with Ghelakis because they have been in business together since 2008.
“CSR Records was actually the label that signed me back then. Over the years we had shared similar values and always tried to create something great together, but the timing only really presented itself last year,” said Bogopa.
Bogopa and Ghelakis plan on making the partnership successful by always putting the music first.
“We believe in great songs, and that’s the driver of the deal. Luckily we have managed, signed, and distributed for many artists through the years in our professional capacities, so managing relationships with artists is really important for me.”
Feel Good CSR has been announced as the new label that will sign winners of the singing competition Idols SA. Bogopa said he plans on putting in the work to make sure that people do not forget about these singers from the show.
“We always put the music first and you will see that this year. In my meetings with Fremantle, the custodians of the format, I made it very clear that the music should always reflect the climate of the territory in which the show is produced. This season will be sure to reflect to lay off the land.
“Secondly, I still produce music to this day, and having given music lovers what they have wanted for decades I am certain that myself and the team at FGCSR have our finger in the pulse and culture.”
The Make The Circle Bigger hitmaker said he will not be getting back to singing anytime soon. “I write and produce, so my music is always everywhere even if it’s not as JR,” he said.
