Lady Du leads by example, trains her staff how to do the job

Amapiano star Lady Du is making boss moves. She is one of few South African celebrities who have also ventured into business.

The singer, whose real name is Duduzile Ngwenya, took to social media to share that she will be training her staff herself for her proudly owned salon, Wawala Beauty.

The beauty salon is located in Lady Du’s hometown in KwaThema, east of Johannesburg.

She revealed in 2022 that she is a qualified beautician and only wanted the best with her new business venture.

Lady Du said her dream was to always own a salon. But it was music that had captured her heart and she decided to focus on it.

She also shared at the time that she used her savings to buy a house in the hood, so she did not have to pay rent.

“I literally have been working so hard on it, and still am. If you are from KwaThema or around, kindly send your CV to Wawalabeauty@gmail.com,” she wrote.

“I am fully qualified in this as you can see my diplomas in all departments, some diplomas are for something else. But all the qualifications are there.

“Here’s to franchising in the hood, empowering the community [and] taking the money back to ekasi. My legacy starts now.”

In a recent video she shared on Wednesday, she can be seen training her staff on how to do a pedicure.

“I want a high-standard salon, I am training my staff myself, I worked on a cruise ship travelling the world working in a spa.

“The standard is not the same as this side, so even though my salon is in the hood, I want my customers to experience luxury.”
