Gospel star Lusanda Mcinga cries bankruptcy in viral video

A video of veteran gospel music sensation Lusanda Mcinga left many of her social media users in shock as she cried bankruptcy.

In the video, the lead member of Lusanda Spiritual Group can be heard pleading with her fans and the general public to lend a helping hand as she can barely make a living.

Mcinga said she started losing her possessions as soon as Covid-19 hit, and she could no longer get bookings because gatherings were prohibited.

“The bank took the cars because I did not have a plan of paying because I do not have money and for me to eat, my children help me. Because of Covid-19, my health deteriorated. I do not want to leave my fans without a proper album, that is why I am asking for financial help, it does not matter how small. Some people will make a mockery out of this, but I desperately need to record an album to close off my music chapter,” she said in the video.

In an interview with Sunday World, family spokesperson Siyabonga Ndumbu said the songstress’s children and management were not aware of the video.

“We can confirm that it is Lusanda on the video and it was posted by one of her friends because he wanted to help her realise her wish. We have always known that she wanted to record an album but due to financial constraints she could not record on her desired time. To be clear, we were working towards accomplishing that mission, but we were shocked as the public when we saw the video online because publicity is not credible, and her management was not consulted about it before it was published. We have asked him to remove the video as we have decided to use other avenues to raise funds for her,” said Ndumbu.
