More titbits on controversial couple Jada Pinkett and Will Smith to be aired

More information about the marriage of Hollywood’s controversial couple Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith is set to be revealed on NBC News’ prime-time show called Today on Friday at 8pm EST (2am SA time).

On the show Jada Pinkett, who has already indicated that there is more to her marriage than she has previously shared, is expected to reveal more about her marriage their relationship as put in her memoir, Worthy

The couple’s longtime partnership has been marked by publicised ups-and-downs which included headlines about Jada’s “entanglement” with singer August Alsina which she revealed during their joint Red Table Talk interview in 2020.

Will Smith also slapped comedian and host Chris Rock at the Oscars after he joked about Jada’s hair. Smith also published a memoir in 2021 which touched on their marriage.

Jada and Will Smith have been separated and have been living “completely separate lives” since 2016, nearly 20 years after they got married in 1997.

When asked why they had not previously shared their relationship status, she says it came down to not being ready and trying to figure out how to be in partnership.

Speaking about why the relationship crumbled she said it was a lot of things but by the time they got to 2016 the couple were tired of trying.

“By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted from trying. I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,” she says.

She added that she has considered a legal divorce, but she has never been able to go through with it.

“I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever. I just haven’t been able to break that promise.”

Will and Jada have two children together, 24-year-old son Jaden Smith and 21-year-old daughter Willow Smith.

Will also has a 29-year-old son named Trey from his first marriage with ex-wife Sheree Zampino.
