Actor Buyile Mdladla has confirmed that he has joined SABC1 telenovela Uzalo. This after the former Gomora actor was spotted on the Uzalo set.
Mdladla is billed to replace late playwright and actor Mncedisi Shabangu as Gabisile’s lover, Mthambisi Phakathi. Shabangu was set to join the telenovela when he suddenly passed away in July.
Before joining South Africa’s most-watched telenovela, Mdladla played Phumlani Ndaba in Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Gomora.
Phakathi’s arrival will see Nkunzi’s feathers ruffled as Gabisile, who is played by Baby Cele, will cheat on him with the new arrival. This will be the second time Gabisile cheats on Nkunzi having previously dated his brother Qhabanga behind his back.
When called for comment, the former Generations star said: “Yes I can confirm [that I have joined Uzalo] but I am not allowed to comment further.”
