Popular amapiano vocalist and DJ, Njelic, real name Tshwarelo Motlhako, has apologised yet again for missing a gig in Durban.
Njelic was scheduled to perform on Sunday at the Brown Sugar Restaurant at Oceans Mall in Umhlanga, Durban.
In a statement, Njelic addressed the management of the establishment and his fans, citing that he had unforeseen circumstances.
“I was not able to make it for my performance. I would like to apologise to the people who had made time to come to the event but were not able to experience my performance,” reads the statement.
Njelic was not honest
“We are in talks with the promoter to reschedule a date, and once the date is confirmed, communication will be sent out.”
This is not the first time the singer has missed a gig.
In April 2023, Sunday World reported that Njelic was scheduled to perform at The Ruling Party, which took place at Greenlight Pub in the North West.
The promoter, Vuyo Moagi, said Njelic was not honest in a statement he issued.
He said his road manager called at about 10pm informing him that they were going to be late because they had a puncture.
He then called them again after they stopped communicating.
I do not believe their excuse
“They were about 60km away from me, and I offered to send a car to fetch them and take them back again.”
Moagi said when the driver reached them, they had locked themselves in the car and did not want to come out.
He then called them to ask what the matter was, and the road manager said Njelic was no longer in a mood to perform at the gig.
“I don’t buy the puncture story, and I believe it was a cover-up, because my guy said there was no puncture. Those guys were drunk and Njelic was sleeping.”
