Media personality Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Conco’s podcast, Timeline with LaConco, has been temporarily shut down.
The news came straight from LaConco during a candid Instagram Live. She said she has been struggling to secure guests to appear on the platform.
“The podcast’s purpose was never to generate revenue but to reveal the truth. However, because of the name, Timeline with LaConco,” she explained.
“I decided I couldn’t just sit on the couch and talk about myself on every episode, but I had to let others share their timelines too.”
Carefully curated guest list
LaConco, the mother of former president Jacob Zuma, revealed that her carefully curated guest list met with silence.
“I invited people whom I believed had brilliant stories and met a certain standard, but they didn’t respond.
“I don’t know if they didn’t want to come or if there was another reason, but until God redirects the purpose of the show, it’s on hold,” she said.
LaConco continued: “Unfortunately, I’m not the kind of person who begs or keeps reminding people. If you don’t respond to my invite, I take it as if you’ve declined.
“On the other hand, I also think I haven’t yet established a strong team to help secure these guests. For that reason, the podcast has been put on hold.”
She claimed that the first five episodes performed exceptionally well in spite of the pause.
“It was such a natural and beautiful experience. Everyone was available, the studio was available, and everything just aligned.
“That’s how I knew I was doing the right thing. I’m not someone who forces matters, and I’m not going to force this one,” she explained.
Zuma’s failure to support child
The podcast, launched earlier in 2025, quickly grabbed attention with its raw and intimate storytelling.
LaConco revealed everything in the first five episodes, from her days as a maiden to her controversial romance with Zuma.
She even opened up about raising her child alone, claiming Zuma had been absent and failed to provide support.
Sunday World reached out to LaConco, but she had not responded by the time of publication.
