Businesswoman and singer Robyn Rihanna Fenty knows how to make a statement, and she did just that on her way to the Met Gala on Monday, revealing she is expecting her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky.
The theme for the Met Gala 2025 was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, an ode to the fashion icon that is the Black Dandy.
This is the first time since 2003 that the Met Gala featured predominantly menswear.
The 37-year-old singer debuted her baby bump in a striking head-to-toe Miu Miu look: a fitted grey blouse and skirt, matching knee-high boots, a brown fur stole, and a black cloche hat.
The stylish portrait was captured and shared on Instagram by photographer Miles Diggs.
Her partner, A$AP Rocky, who served as one of the co-chairs for the evening, themed around Black Dandyism, confirmed the news to reporters on the Met Gala red carpet.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he said, responding to well-wishes. “I am glad everybody’s happy for us because we are definitely happy.”
Dramatic pregnancy reveals
Rihanna is no stranger to dramatic pregnancy reveals.
She famously revealed her second pregnancy during her 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance and later attended the Met Gala that same year before giving birth.
Rihanna showed up in snazzy red overalls during her much-anticipated performance at one of the most high-profile music slots of the year.
Rihanna and A$AP are already parents to two sons, RZA, born in May 2022, and Riot, born in August 2023.
They have reported that they want a big family. Rihanna said becoming a mom has made her feel that she can ‘take on the world’.
The Met Gala has become a favoured stage for pregnancy announcements; Serena Williams and Karlie Kloss both shared their baby news at the 2023 event.
