The highly anticipated reality show The Mommy Club NBO, which premiered on Showmax on May 30, has introduced a fresh and dynamic cast of Nairobi’s most vibrant mothers, including South African-born life coach and content creator Ofentse Tsipa.
Known for her transformative work in personal development and candid approach to life’s challenges, Ofentse brings an international and multicultural perspective to the show. She will be sharing her journey as a mother of two. Also as a wife to a Dutch husband, and a student at the US International University-Africa (USIU-Africa).
Family of creatives
Adding an intriguing layer to her story, Ofentse is the sister of acclaimed South African actor Lemogang Tsipa. The latter is known for his standout roles in Shaka iLembe, Eye in the Sky, and The Dark Tower. Together, the siblings represent a family of creative and influential talents making waves across borders.
The Mommy Club NBO is the latest instalment of the record-breaking The Mommy Club franchise. It offers an intimate look into the lives of five affluent Kenyan mothers as they navigate the complexities of adulthood. These include parenting, career, and personal ambitions in Nairobi’s glamorous scene.
Ofentse, 36, joins an impressive cast that includes Jackie Matubia, DJ Pierra Makena, Carey Priscilla, and Lynne Njihia. As a life coach, podcaster, and mother of a son and a daughter, Ofentse’s story is one of “controlled chaos”. She balances her personal development brand, university studies, and family life with honesty and introspection.
Her multicultural background is rooted in South Africa and enriched by her life in Kenya with her Dutch husband. This adds a unique flavour to the show, promising viewers a blend of emotional depth and relatable drama.
Mission to inspire
Ofentse’s participation in The Mommy Club NBO is a natural fit for her mission to inspire and empower others. She moved to Kenya for a corporate job and later transitioned to life coaching. This was to pursue her purpose of helping people achieve self-actualisation. As such, she embodies resilience and adaptability.
“We are thrilled to bring The Mommy Club to Kenya. To shine a light on the multifaceted lives of these remarkable women,” said Patricia Gichinga, the head of production at M-Net.
