Sjava, Zonke picked as supporting acts for Freddie Jackson tour

The organisers of Freddie Jackson’s You Are My Lady South African tour have announced Sjava, Zonke, Mashata, Ismail Abrahams, and DJ Young as the supporting acts.

The legendary iconic soul and R&B crooner is known for hits such as Rock Me Tonight (For Old Time Sake), All I’ll Ever Ask, and You Are My Lady.

Jackson has reportedly sold more than 15-million records around the world. This will be the 66-year-old’s first time in Mzansi.

Earlier in 2023, Zonke released her sixth album Embo, which is receiving extensive airplay.

She has been entertaining and captivating fans for 16 years with hits like Jik’izinto, Viva The Legend, and Feelings.

“I am so excited to be part of this event. Performing alongside the legendary Freddie Jackson is a dream come true for any young artist,” said Zonke.

“I look forward to having a good time with my fans and I promise to give them a performance of a lifetime.”

Sjava, who will also be joining Jackson on stage, said he grew up listening to the American’s music and never imagined one day he would share the stage with him.

“When I was invited to be part of this event, there was no way I was gonna say no,” said Sjava.

“To be on stage with this legend and give him a taste of our South African music is an opportunity of a lifetime.”

Jackson’s concerts will take place at Sun City Superbowl on September 23 and 24, Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on September 30, and Durban ICC on October 1.
