Hip hop sensation and entrepreneur Siyabonga “Slikour” Metane has agreed to buy his wife Melissa Wilkinson out of their Sandton marital home after losing the fight to save his faltering marriage.
Sunday World can exclusively reveal that Metane has agreed to pay Wilkinson at least R250 000 as part of the settlement for her to move out of their matrimonial pad in the ritzy suburb of Johannesburg.
News that the former Skwatta Kamp member agreed to buy his wife out was revealed by a source close to the estranged couple.
The deep throat said the two former lovebirds agreed that Metane should keep the house, which they both currently own, as part of the settlement they reached.
They agreed that the artist should acquire the services of conveyancers and transfer
lawyers at his own expense to transfer the property into his name but only from the date of the divorce.
Afterwards, said the mole, he should pay his estranged wife half of the settlement amount within a period of 12 months from the date of the divorce.
The mole, who did not want to be named for fear of reprisals, said Metane also agreed with Wilkinson that she could live in the house with their child for a period of 12 months until he had paid her the money. Thereafter, said the source, Wilkinson should vacate their nuptial pad and find her own crib.
“The outstanding balance, which obviously should be about R150 000, should be paid to his wife within seven days after [her] vacating the house,” said the tipster.
They further agreed that should Wilkinson not vacate the pad, she would pay her former husband at least R15 000 a month rent.
Metane will transfer to Wilkinson’s name the motor vehicle the rapper purchased for her for her personal use.
They also agreed that Wilkinson would retain her artwork, heirlooms and crystal and china given to her by relatives and friends.
“We are sad that Siyabonga and his wife have decided not to fight to save their marriage. We wish them luck, and we hope that in the 12-month period that she is going to live with him under one roof after the divorce, they will reignite their spark and be lovers again,” said the source.
Wilkinson kicked Metane to the kerb after she accused him of abuse and adultery.
Before that, she had complained that he was emotionally, financially and psychologically abusive towards her.
Wilkinson also lamented that she was lonely in their union because Metane devoted most of his time to his career and neglected her.
She further protested that he also sidelined her in making crucial family decisions and hardly communicated with her on marital matters.
The mole also said Wilkinson complained that Metane was always away from home and often engaged in extramarital affairs.
According to the source, Wilkinson also said she had not only lost love for the musician but also respect and affection because he was a player.
