Actress and casting director Stephanie Ndlovu has publicly addressed the wave of online bullying she has faced following her divorce announcement from actor Hungani Ndlovu.
The couple confirmed their separation on Sunday, emphasising their commitment to co-parenting their daughter, Rhulani, and remaining friends.
Emotional toll
However, on Wednesday, Stephanie took to social media to share a heartfelt video, revealing the emotional toll of relentless bullying by some social media users.
“I have endured the level of bullying that I have never experienced in my life. I have been dragged, told the kind of mother I am and the kind of wife I was. For the most part I turned off the comments, blocked and deleted some. But I am finding myself in a position where I need to say something because it is getting out of hand,” she said.
She said people have pulled some people who had nothing to do with her divorce to Hungani.
The actress, who played the role of Ingrid on e.tv’s Scandal!, said it is unfair that her friend, Petronella Tshuma, is dealing with something that she had nothing to do with.
Attacking friend’s character
“You guys are attacking her character, her as a mother and as a person. You are finding every single loophole to reach her no matter how much we are trying to navigate this. And I do not think it’s fair that she must stay off social media or she should change how she wants to do things just because of the lies that are being spread,” she added.
In their statement, the power couple said though their marriage is ending, their friendship is not. The duo owns a YouTube channel together.
Split is cordial
“We are committed to showing up as a united team for our beautiful daughter. To raising her with the same care, intention, and joy she has always known.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us. Especially through The Ndlovu’s Uncut. During this deeply personal time, we kindly ask for privacy, grace, and compassion for our family.”
