Television Presenter and musician Jub Jub is appearing at the Johannesburg magistrate’s court on Thursday morning.
The Uyajola 99 host, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, received a bail of R10 000 in July.
Maarohanye is facing five criminal charges in total: three counts of rape, two of attempted murder and one of assault.
One of the charges was opened by his ex-girlfriend and a famous media personality which date back to 2006 and 2009 when they were in a relationship.
NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane said the case by the media personality was opened at the police station in Brixton in February 2022. She added that the media personality decided to open the case after the rapper went on a popular podcast and said degrading things about her. Other women spoke out after the personality’s post went viral.
He had handed himself over at the Brixton Police Station last month and was released on bail, following an unopposed bail hearing.
