It is never too late to find love again, and one can do so even in their old age.
This was true for businessman Patilizwe “Pat” Mdoda, father to both Anele and Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo, when he tied the knot at the weekend.
Anele took a trip back home to Tsolo in Eastern Cape to witness her father exchange wedding vows.
The businessman recently built an early childhood development (ECD) centre in his childhood village where he grew up.
The ECD centre is located in Ncembu in KuTsolo village in Eastern Cape, where Mdoda grew up and attended his first grade in a mud hut.
This after Mdoda and his family responded to the president’s Special Project of Early Childhood Education.
Taking to social media, Anele posted a snap of her father and his new wife Noxolo, noting that she had shared unofficial pictures of the couple’s wedding day.
“Welcome to the family Noxolo, or should I say Mrs Mdoda. We love you boobsie,” Anele wrote on her account.
Anele also joked about how she was the one who had the keys to the cold room at her father’s wedding ceremony, and expressed how she has always longed for the role ever since she was a child.
“Please when you address me from now on, know that I was in charge of the Koyi at my dad’s wedding,” she wrote.
“An honour I have wanted since I was a kid watching my older cousin uBhuti Mzukisi do it, and I am told I nailed it.
“I won’t be doing any interviews at this moment, please no questions from the floor.”
Her mother reportedly passed away in January 2009.
