Titles don’t matter to Mtanga as long as she’s making her mark

Media personality Pamela Mtanga is making her mark in the entertainment industry and has shared that titles don’t matter to her.

Mtanga was recently featured on BET Africa as one of five top South African women who are making a difference.

“It’s all growth and purpose,” she said.

Mtanga said she doesn’t plan her journey, but rather works hard so more opportunities can present themselves. She emphasised that the time and effort you put into working will determine what’s next.

“BET is a platform I’ve wanted to work with for some time now and it was such an honour to get into the studio with the team,” she said.

“Titles don’t really matter to me, as long as I’m booked and I’m making a mark, that’s enough for me. But this felt so aligned with exactly what I’m doing in my career, so I hold it dear to my heart. To be recognised for all the work that I do, I do not take that lightly.”

BET Africa also featured the likes of Thando Thabethe, DJ Zinhle and Busiswa as they celebrated the strength, resilience, and achievements of South African women.

In August, Mtanga had the privilege of being featured on the new L’Oreal Paris advert alongside the brand’s new ambassador, Thuso Mbedu.

“L’Oreal is one of those brands I feel is putting their money where their mouth is. Putting our very own South African star-turned-global force as the face of the brand is something I could easily agree to support in a heartbeat.”

“Africa is really on the rise and seeing ourselves through global screens really is testament to the fact that we have a seat at the global table. It’s kind of surreal to be on a L’Oreal ad; little me would not have imagined it all,” she said.
