Police in Botlokwa outside Polokwane, Limpopo, have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of two bodies.
This was at a residence in Sekonye village in the early hours of Thursday.

Upon visiting the residence to check on him, the relative discovered the lifeless bodies of a 47-year-old man and his 34-year-old partner.
Police move swiftly
Police were immediately notified and responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that both victims had sustained gunshot wounds. A firearm, believed to have been used in the incident, was recovered at the scene.
At this stage, the motive behind the murders remains unclear.
However, domestic violence cannot be ruled out as a factor. Police have opened a case of murder, and investigations are continuing.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo (SAPS), Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned the continued violence between intimate partners and the broader scourge of gender-based violence, (GBV).
“We urge community members to seek help when facing challenges in their relationships.”
“These senseless killings are a tragic reminder of the urgent need to break the cycle of domestic violence,” Hadebe said.
