Tumisang Abednigo Nkwe is a 28-year-old businessman and social entrepreneur from Taung, North West. His entrepreneurial spirit was born out of a desire to empower himself and others. He argues that entrepreneurs can solve social and economic challenges. And this, he says, motivates him to be of service to his community. He owns Dese Footwear, TANE Education (SA Learning Books), Kasi Eats and Kasi Drive. Established in 2020, Dese Footwear trades in premium sneakers. Plans are afoot to open more retail stores nationwide, and factories to produce them are about to be established.  Nkwe holds a Higher National Diploma in Business, a Bachelor of Business Management degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education. He has written study guides for business studies, economics and mathematical literacy for grades 10 to 12 learners. The books are used by the North West and Gauteng schools and are published under the banner of TANE Education, launched in 2017. Last year, Nkwe opened Kasi Eats, a food delivery business. Nkwe also established the Bereka Mosadi Seminar, a women empowerment initiative that hosts women events every August to celebrate women making impact in communities.
