Project Name/Description:
Amina Farouk describes herself as a teacher by profession, a mentor by passion and an educator at heart. Farouk, who is an educational sociologist by profession, serves the education sector at Cambridge level. She is the founder of Teach With a Passion Mentorship Programme, through which she moulds student teachers by providing skills development and different methodologies for them to deal with on-the-ground situations. This she offers without any financial gain. Farouk is also an active member of her community, serving her people as a motivational speaker who uses the trials and tribulations she has been through to ignite hope. She is a car accident survivor, in which she lost her right leg when she was merely 8 years old, as well as an endometriosis warrior. Her motto through life is ability beyond disability. To her name she has many accolades, such as Women of Wonder Gauteng 2021 and 100 Influential Women in South Africa 2022. She is Miss Inspire SA Women 2022/2023 as well as a Casual Day Ambassador for the National Council for Persons with Disabilities. Amina Farouk is determined, willing and able to claim her space.
