Flacko Promotions
Creating space for township greatness, Alpheus Nyathi (24), born and raised in Ivory Park, is the proud founder of Flacko Promotions—a nonprofit marketing agency that uplifts township-based businesses by giving them the recognition and support they deserve. “Ivory Park is a place filled with endless opportunities—for those who dare to dream,” he says. “I’m proof of that.” Founded on 5 June 2020, Flacko Promotions started with one employee—Alpheus himself—and one mission: to help small businesses reach bigger audiences, grow, and make sales. “Many township entrepreneurs give up too early. They feel unseen and unsupported,” he explains. “I wanted to create a platform where their efforts are not only seen but celebrated.” His work extends beyond business. Every December, Flacko Promotions hosts the Annual Christmas Lunch, a fun day for underprivileged children who may not have access to a warm meal during the holidays. “Giving back to the community, especially children, is my proudest achievement,” he says. Motivated by his relationship with God and a deep desire to do good, Alpheus overcomes challenges by staying true to his mission. “Love and kindness guide everything I do. I believe the world becomes better when we all contribute to the betterment of others.” He also serves as Marketing Director for As I Rise – Respect My Craft and the Thembisa Awards, now in its third year. The next event will be held on 29 November 2025, celebrating creatives who uplift their communities through talent and resilience. “My journey taught me that you don’t need much to make a difference,” he says. “Start where you are, use what you have, and give it your all.” His motto? “Growth happens outside of your comfort zone. When it gets uncomfortable, that’s when you should jump.”
