Project Name/Description:
Transforming Health Awareness in South Africa
At just 23, Durban-based speech-language therapist Busisiwe Ndlovu is already reshaping health education in South Africa. Her breakthrough came with a four-month health promotion program on iKhwezi 90.5 FM — bringing speech therapy into everyday conversations. Since then, she’s been featured on Ukhozi FM, iSolezwe, and 1KZN TV, using her voice to promote health literacy in under-resourced communities. Raised amid financial hardship, Busisiwe began sharing her story in 2023 via social media, building awareness and engagement. Her platform now reaches thousands, encouraging young people to prioritise their well-being. Her recognitions include finalist for Healthcare Professional Media Personality of the Year, a Top 100 South African Shining Star, and 2025 African Health Excellence Awards Ambassador. “Once you commit to impact, your presence becomes a vessel of hope,” she says. Busisiwe is not just a therapist — she’s a storyteller, an advocate, and a role model for the next generation of health professionals.
