Better known as Hunadi the Host, Junior Letsoalo has become a vibrant voice for youth and cultural pride in South Africa. From Ga-Mathabatha Mphaaneng near Polokwane, her journey from humble beginnings to media success is built on resilience and purpose. Junior hosts Moswa le Bokamoso, a youth-focused show, and Tšabo Rena, which promotes Bapedi culture on SABC Thobela FM. Beyond radio, she runs Hunadi Communications, a media company that organizes children’s events attended by over 8,000 families and women’s events drawing thousands. She also leads a mentorship program for aspiring MCs, radio hosts, voice artists, DJs, and entrepreneurs—especially those battling self-esteem and fear of public speaking. Her entrepreneurial reach includes DDM, a jacket brand where she models her own designs. Through her foundation, Junior supports disability centres, vulnerable children, and emerging entrepreneurs. Inspired by a high school teacher who once said, “You belong nowhere but on stage, TV, and radio,” she studied radio at Boston Media House and launched her career in community radio. Since then, she’s interviewed leaders like President Cyril Ramaphosa and hosted high-profile events such as the Women of Stature Awards red carpet and SAMA 25 red carpet. Despite financial challenges, Junior’s passion continues to drive her. Her dream is to see independent, educated, and supportive women lifting each other up. Her message to young girls: “Plan your life, live your dreams, and achieve your goals.” As she often says, “Motho ke motho ka batho”—a person is a person through others.
