More info:

Kgomotso Kgamanyane is the driving force behind Creative KS, a growing photography studio in Khuma, North West. The 35-year-old leads a business offering a wide range of services, including portraits, weddings, maternity shoots, product photography, and drone aerial shots. Its location in the Kasi means clients get professional quality without having to travel far—and the studio also offers mobile services to meet people where they are. Kgomotso’s entry into photography was unexpected. She originally studied journalism, but a gift from her fiancé—a camera and soft light box—opened a new path. With no formal training, she taught herself through YouTube and practical experience, motivated by unemployment and a passion that grew stronger with every shoot. From small birthday parties in Wolmaransstad to weddings in Mpumalanga, she built her skills from the ground up. Since registering Creative KS in 2022, she’s attended workshops through NYDA and SEDFA and secured funding to professionally equip the studio. Beyond commercial work, she contributes to school graduations, community events, and markets across the North West. Like many creatives, she’s faced challenges, from costly equipment repairs to pricing strategy missteps. But her resilience and focus on client relationships have kept the business thriving. Her next step is to expand into videography and custom products, and to encourage more young people to explore careers in photography. Creative KS is more than a business—it’s a platform for creative empowerment in the community.
