Project Name/Description:
Founder – Naugh Media Communications (NMC)
At just 35 years old, Sthembele Njobo—affectionately known as "Naugh-Naugh"—is transforming the media landscape from the heart of Palmridge-Katlehong. As the founder of Naugh Media Communications (NMC), he is not only a digital entrepreneur but a beacon of hope for township creatives and businesses seeking visibility in a competitive online world. After graduating with a public relations qualification in 2015 and spending a year job-hunting with no success, Njobo says he made a bold decision—to stop seeking jobs and start creating them. “In May 2016, I launched NMC, a tech-driven media company dedicated to helping local businesses and independent artists amplify their voices through event photography, live streaming, video podcasts, and digital storytelling,” Njobo said. He added that with roots as a rapper who once collaborated with iFani, his artistic background powers his passion for visual expression and preserving township culture. His mission? To build a digital library of stories that future generations can learn from and be inspired by. He believes that what sets him apart is his grassroots approach. He mentors emerging creatives, gives township businesses a media presence, and views technology as a tool for economic and emotional empowerment. His journey from job seeker to job creator is a powerful example of resilience and innovation. Cementing his role as a pioneer in community-driven digital storytelling, Njobo said: “Looking ahead, I plan to expand into drone videography, media training, and tech accessibility, and I hope to be remembered as a media trailblazer who gave township youth a voice and built a legacy rooted in empowerment.”
