More info:

Adelia Nqubuka is a determined entrepreneur from Orange Farm, Gauteng, who founded Adelia Creations Enterprise, a construction and landscaping company, in 2016. Over the years, her business has grown significantly, having completed big projects, including renovations at a local hospital and the construction of two new classrooms in her community – projects she regards as “a lifetime achievement”. Adelia’s entrepreneurial journey was born out of necessity. After matriculating in 2008, she worked various jobs before registering her business in 2014. It was during her pregnancy in 2016, when she was unemployed, that she was fully committed to building her business. She pursued a vision of running a company that not only constructs buildings but also creates opportunities for others to succeed. A pivotal moment came when Adelia joined SAYouth.mobi and applied for the Solar Installation Training Programme by Nepoworx. This work readiness programme provides accredited solar PV training and skills development to empower young work seekers and business owners in the electrical and renewable energy spaces. Completing the programme earned her a PV Green Card accreditation, giving her business legitimacy and a competitive edge in the renewable energy sector. Today, with three permanent staff, Adelia undertakes government and private projects, such as a three-year landscaping contract with a local mall, and an additional 15 local workers per project. Adelia believes in the power of community and knowledge sharing among young people. Her goals for the coming year include scaling her business by hiring administrative and marketing staff, offering remote internships, and securing long-term contracts to sustain operations. She also aims to upskill in health and safety compliance and business management, reflecting her belief that “as entrepreneurs, we never stop learning.” Adelia is not only building a business but also a strong and powerful legacy for her community.
