Project Name/Description:
On Point Healthcare
Boitumelo Ntsoane’s success story reads like a fairytale. She went from being an ordinary girl from kasi to being a respectable businesswoman who’s making a mark in people’s lives. A Pharmacy graduate from Rhodes University, she has always wanted to bring healthcare closer to the majority of South Africans. After varsity, Ntsoane did her internship at Transmed Retail Pharmacies, thereafter got to Lebowakgomo Hospital to do her community work. Thereafter, she took the plunge and founded Afrilink Healthcare that provided healthcare to schools in need. Her company started out as a small medical centre with only one doctor, dentist, optometrist, and a pharmacy. Later, she bought On Point Healthcare, a fully-furnished mobile clinic that she uses to do health risk assessments. She is currently working on a project to support rape survivors against HIV/Aids by providing them with post-exposure prophylaxis treatment, which should be taken 72 hours after being violated. “Women are dynamic individuals with great potential and deserve to be in the front line as leaders, at the table when decisions are made and as implementors of solutions,” says Ntsoane.
