Project Name/Description:
RuFF CuTT Studio - Marketing Director

More info:

For Layla Gibbons artist management, let alone a career in the entertainment world, was never on the horizon in her professional growth.  After spending 30 years in corporate communications and insurance industries in Zimbabwe and South Africa, she walked away from MTN SA to join a family business founded by her husband and son, RuFF CuTT Studio, a film and music producing outfit.  Her communications expertise came in handy when she became marketing director since 2017 and managed reggae/rapper Don Dada, whom she was able to propel from an unknown artist to a multi-platinum award artist, achieving nearly a million downloads on one of his tracks within four months of its release.  Gibbons says while charity begins at home, for her it extends to the community. She strongly believes that “growing people is a true measure of success”. When not working at RuFF CuTT, she dabbles in philanthropy, raising funds for non-government organizations such as SOS Africa, a grassroots child sponsorship organisation that invests in the education and care of African children.
