Lulekwa Mcwabeni is an accomplished data and information architect with more than 20 years’ experience in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector. Her passion for collecting information and reviewing it started at an early age. By the time she completed matric in 1994 at Thubalethu High School in the Eastern Cape, she knew she was cut out for a career in information technology.  After high school, she joined the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where she completed a National Diploma in Information Technology and proceeded to earn a Bachelor of Technology in Knowledge Management in 2012. After spending years in the field acquiring experience, she enrolled to study and completed a Masters in Technology in Business Information Systems at Tshwane University of Technology in 2014. Mcwabeni is also a certified data management specialist.  As a data and information architect, she wakes up every morning with one goal in mind: understanding people’s granular backgrounds beyond just being ID numbers, so as to innovate systems that will provide solutions to the world’s challenges. Before starting her company, Mcwabeni was an independent information technology consultant in the banking, telecommunications and mining sectors. She is currently a global partnership officer for Young Women in Business Forum SA.
