Being the first-born in a family of eight shaped me into a mentor and role model for my siblings. I vividly recall my father’s counsel, “Study hard so that you can have a be er future.” As a neophyte nurse, I always admired educated nurses, and I ended up having older friends who were more experienced. They encouraged me to further my studies to master’s and doctoral levels. In short, always aspire to be the best version of yourself, and when you do, train others to do the same.
