Project Name/Description:
Tembisa, Gauteng - Co-Founder and Director of Tswelangpele Primary Co-operative Ltd
Agnes Malebane is a multi-faceted individual – a mother, grandmother of two, and a dedicated teacher-cum-businesswoman. She began her journey with The Premier Group in 1998, starting as a junior secretary before rising to the role of social investment officer. Her focus on community needs in Tembisa led her to establish a feeding scheme for underprivileged children, earning her recognition as a philanthropist. Her talents expanded further as she ventured into interior design, supported by her late husband.
“Passion is an energy resource that fuels our success in life. Without passion you can’t succeed. I’m a people-centric person with a growth mind-set,” she says.
This venture led to her receiving the prestigious Sowetan Businesswoman of the Year Award. Additionally, Malebane was a top nominee for the Africa Women in Leadership Award at the 2017 Africa Energy Awards.
“I am a transformational leader driven by a passion for making a positive impact on communities. I thrive on driving change and was honoured to be recognised for my efforts. Achieving third position in Terrapin’s 2018 Women in Energy Leadership for sub-Saharan Africa and excelling in my studies at Speccon Holding, even earning a nomination from Sunday World, affirm that I possess the necessary qualities to succeed.”
