Itumeleng Mogatusi-Sekgota, a dedicated and dynamic young business leader, is unwavering in her commitment to effecting positive change within society, aligning her goals with global and regional development agendas.  
With over nine years of experience as a mine dewatering hydrogeologist and sustainability integration specialist in the mining sector, she has emerged as a trailblazer in the fields. 
A remarkable feat was her recognition as the first runner-up in the prestigious 2020 UN Global Compact Sustainable Development Goals Pioneer Competition. Mogatusi-Sekgota has garnered critical acclaim for fostering collaborative efforts that enhance the quality of life for mining host communities. 
Her expertise as a hydrogeologist spans the globe, where she has overseen projects of varying complexity. From the Platinum Bushveld Complex in South Africa to the Supergene Iron Belt in the Northern Cape and the Porphyry Copper Belt in Chile’s Andes Mountains, she has left her imprint on diverse mining landscapes.  

Harnessing her technical ability, Mogatusi-Sekgota dons the mantle of an SDG 6 Ambassador and co-founder of Hydrogeologists Without Borders Africa, an NGO delivering specialised hydrogeological consulting services to SADC nations.  

As a sustainability integration and impact specialist at Anglo American, she occupies a pivotal role in charting the course of sustainability integration and implementing the Sustainable Mine Plan Framework.
