More info:

From a young age, Karabo Seema’s aspired for a career in health sciences, and Primary Health Care, focusing on sexual and reproductive health. However, her path took an unexpected turn when she found her calling in trauma and emergency nursing. She still remembers how the fast-paced, impactful nature of the emergency department resonated with her, igniting a passion she couldn’t ignore.

Seema is a nurse at Netcare Montana Hospital’s emergency department, and is enrolled in a short course offered by Netcare Education for Trauma and Emergency.

“I believe I have taken good strides in my professional and social life combined,” shares Seema.

Seema’s achievements reflect the youthful zeal she has brought to healthcare. She has been featured in Adcock Ingram’s programme called Sponsors of Braves and also named as a Shining Star in Health by Inside Education.

Seema is reshaping perception about nursing. As deputy chairperson for the Health & Allied Workers Indaba Trade Union in Gauteng, she is actively involved in working class activism.

Seema envisions a future where nursing influences policies, patient care and societal attitudes. She believes she represents a new generation of nurses, challenging norms and advocating for change.
