More info:

Marcia Ramodike is the founder and owner of Evelyn50 Publishing. Her journey, fuelled by an early love for books, is inspiring a new generation of diverse voices.

Ramodike’s connection to literature began when she discovered Her Mother’s Hope by Francine Rivers at age nine. This encounter ignited a passion that led her to publish her first book at 20 and launch it across South African universities. In 2021, she established Evelyn50, a platform dedicated to promoting quality literature and empowering authors.

“We now have a bestseller, award-winning authors and other achievements,” she says.

Despite industry limitations such as the small book-buying market, Ramodike’s vision continues to propel her forward. Her accomplishments include owning Evelyn50, being honoured at the African Honouree Authors Awards in 2021, earning the 100 Young Mandelas of the Future accolade as well as the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans lists in 2023.

Publishing 19 books in just under two years
of operations, Ramodike’s dedication to literary excellence is undeniable. Her commitment to inclusivity is evident in her gender-balanced workforce, where youth and innovation thrive.

“I believe that literature is not that familiar in our country, and we are the future of literature.”
