Shiburi’s unique ability to translate complex financial terms into simple language breeds trust and connection with clients, making debt management inclusive and relatable.
She acknowledges that while women are visible in top positions of the financial sector, being a black female finance business owner can be challenging. “We do not have a lot of black-owned female companies in finance and that means you have to extremely work hard to remain relevant in the industry,” she says.
“The finance industry in general has been inclusive of women. However, black women still need a seat at the table as we do not have enough of them,” she adds.
Shiburi’s holistic approach has aided her clients with debt consolidation, credit counselling and tailored repayment plans. Her company doesn’t just offer financial advice; it tackles the root causes of debt, helping clients regain control.
“The greatest achievement is having an opportunity to provide employment to young people. To know that I can contribute to economic activities by means of employment is really the best achievement of all time.”
