A gem in her community who has in recent years shown nothing but commitment and making a difference across her community.

Matlala’s passion has seen her being committed to making more effort, particularly focused on improving the lives of her community.

She has over the years managed to get donations from various stakeholders, with the sole intention of donating them to different schools in her area. Additionally, she initiated a project where unemployed youth and women united to clear the village’s streets.

Matlala’s drive to help people started in 2021, when, through her company, Kgapana Enterprise, she hosted an event in Mokopane, handing out school uniforms and sanitary pads to disadvantaged learners.

In 2022, she started collecting sanitary pads and food parcels for those in need, and that continues. Matlala says: “My dedication is to improve the lives of disadvantaged people in the community. While I appreciate the admiration and respect, I am aware there is still more work ahead.”

She says through more donations, more lives can be changed. Such can also be made towards her new initiative, where unemployed young people and women are cleaning Manyapye’s streets.

Matlala concludes: “I work hard to make sure that most girls at school have sanitary pads and toiletries. I ask for donations from different sectors to make sure that they reach disadvantaged families.”
