At just 23 years old, Botshelo Mthomboti, has four books written under her name. She is not your ordinary writer; her books are a mix of literature, mathematics, and accounting. She defines herself as the first Accounting Poet for her amazing combination. She is ambitious and does not stop dreaming as she aspires to become a Chartered Accountant. She has shown her uniqueness in bringing poetry into accounting, a niche market that has made her name popular in the country and beyond. Her books include Black Child Transformed by Accounting, The Poetic Atmosphere of Income Tax, Poetic Atmosphere of Mathematics, and The Journey of a Trainee Accountant. She believes in the power of education. Mthomboti is a graduate of Financial Management and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Accounting Sciences with the University of South Africa. “The only thing that keeps me going is the passion that I have for pure maths and accounting. South Africa needs more statisticians, if not mathematicians. We need more chartered accountants, “she remarked.
