Project Name/Description:
Bridget is a highly accomplished woman who recently completed two postgraduate degrees simultaneously at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University and the University of South Africa. Her academic research garnered significant recognition, leading to presentations at local and international conferences. Earlier this year, she was invited to a UN conference in Thailand, where she was honored as a Global Ambassador of Peace. This year, she contributed as a delegate reviewing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals at the Future Action Summit in Malaysia. Bridget has received numerous accolades, including the South African Shining Star award from Inside Education in 2020 and the Sunday World Unsung Hero award in 2023, among others. A passionate storyteller and poet, Bridget has co-authored Tapping into Poetry and authored three books: Calendar’s Time, He li Shango a li na Tshilidzi, and a children’s book, Tsireledzo’s Grand Adventure: The Magic of Imagination, which she describes as a heartfelt love letter to her daughter. Her poems have been featured in Sol Plaatje European Union Poetry Anthologies (Volumes VIII and IX), and her writing has been published on platforms such as FunDza, Kalahari Review, and various other online publications. Her literary work has also been celebrated by collectors of African art in Nigeria. Guided by her belief: “I believe in the brain that thinks and the hands that work,” she also believes that “a child with clean hands will always eat with kings,” which she interprets as meaning there is a place in the universe for those who put in the effort. Aptly referring to herself as a “jack of all trades, yet a master of all. Bridget has excelled in academics, creative talent, and public speaking; hence, she often takes a jibe at herself that she is a “master”, that she describes herself as a “jack of all trades, that masters none.” She is adamant that through her passion for health science, research, arts, creativity, and leaving a mark, her mark on the global stage is not done.
