More info:

For Dr. Karabo Lucy Mogane, performing arts is a very powerful tool that can be used to teach life skills, social awareness, self-esteem, and improve academic performance through extensive research.   Born in Pretoria’s Soshanguve township, Dr. Mogane’s passion for music was ignited at the age of 15 by her music teacher, Amanda Low, who mentored her through the Unisa Music Foundation.  This early musical experience was profound in Dr. Mogane’s journey as she started to establish music centres in Hammanskraal and later in Mabopane where she was offering training in violin, viola, recorder, flute, and music theory.  She went to enrol for her junior degree in music, Postgraduate Diploma in Organisational Management, Master of Music, Master of Business Administration from Guglielmo Marconi University, Italy, and finally, Doctor of Music from the University of Pretoria (UP).  She established the Mogane Family Foundation, which works closely with the University of South Africa. Operating four centres, including two orphanages with 5 teachers, three board members, and two interns.
