Her family taught her the importance of education.   Tutoring helped her to discover a passion for knowledge production, where she later secured a position as a junior lecturer in the Department of Quality and Operations Management at her alma mater. She grew to become a Coordinator for the Management Services qualification, Deputy Chairperson of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment’s Ethics and Plagiarism Committee, and a member of the Senate, deepening her commitment to academic excellence and ethical leadership.  Dr. Tshabalala’s defining moment of her career was when the former Minister of Higher Education and Training to serve on the Ministerial Task Team, which was set up to strengthen Community Education and Training (CET) colleges across South Africa.
