More info:

Neo Karabo Leburu embodies resilience, vision, and futurism. It is unbelievable how Tshimo Agribusiness and Projects Pty Ltd was started with a gifted pregnant goat in 2006. Her business has positively and enormously impacted Ganyesa’s food security and the surrounding communities. She specialises in goats and cattle breeding and poultry production.   This seasoned entrepreneur has made an immense contribution to sustainable rural development by discouraging unnecessary urban migration through creating economic opportunities in her rural communities. She now manages more than 40 goats. Her business operates a hatchery, selling day-old chicks for broilers, layers, and indigenous chickens.    As a go-getter, she also has some “side-hustles” which include selling popular sphatlho/kota in the streets of Ganyesa.   Her story plays an important role in destroying the chains of dominant patriarchy in our society, “I overcame a gender-biased mentality and proved that women can succeed in farming,” said Leburu.  As part of her empowerment initiatives, she conducts regular interprovincial mentorship and training sessions in poultry management and skills sharing for youth.
