Mzansi’s highly regarded house DJ and producer Da Capo has gained more international recognition after being nominated for an award in
Ibiza, Spain. Da Capo, real name Nicodimas Mogashoa, was given the nod in the Best Afro House DJ category at the awards to be
held in two weeks’ti me.
The self-taught DJ, who was currently on his European tour, said being recognised far away from home meant progress in his career.
“It shows dedication and passionate work. I’ve been rewarded for doing what I love throughout the year.
“The manner in which my music has been appreciated across the borders warms my heart. The fact that the first label I signed with was an international label shows that people out there enjoy what I produce, ”he said. Another top Mzansi DJ Black Coffee bagged the prize for Best Deep House last year at the same event.
Da Capo heaped praises on Black Coffee for “opening the channels for Africans to pursue their dreams in the international market”.
The Limpopo-born House DJ will perform in Ibiza, Zurich, Berlin, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dubai, London, Nairobi and Luanda among other top cities of the world.
