Kolisi a true champ, friend, and compatriot for supporting Bavuma
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi is a true definition of a champion, friend, a leader, and a compatriot of note.
Shwa hears that Kolisi was deep in the middle of the crowd at the Cricket South Africa headquarters in Melrose on Wednesday, upon the arrival of the Proteas from their ICC World Test Championship triumph at Lord’s last weekend. The selfless Boks’ captain was spotted dancing and singing amagwijo, including the now famous “Oh Temba Bavuma” chant, with the crowd.
What makes the whole gesture so profound is that Kolisi had to prepare for and attend his own press conference just around the corner in Hyde Park.
But because he is the leader that he is and understands what it means to inspire a national team to glory as the black captain, he saw it fit to support Bavuma, and Shwa gives Kolisi his flowers.
