Enter Northern Cape chairperson Zamani Saul and party treasurer-general Gwen Ramokgopa, pictured, – a duo so steeped in denial, they’d argue the sky is polka-dotted if it suited their ambitions.
When whispers emerged of a plot against Deputy President Paul Mashatile, Saul snorted: “Why kill a deputy of a 40% party? We used to have 70%!” Not to be out-pettied, Ramokgopa shrugged: “Fake news! We’ll refer it to the secretariat.”
Then, boom: National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola confirmed the incident is under investigation. Cue the sound of those who backed them scrambling to delete tweets.
Their cynicism isn’t just foolish – it’s pathological. Pure factional paranoia, where every crisis is a rival plot.
