This past weekend Shwa headed out to the Lyric Theatre to attend the Redbull Symphonic with Kabza De Small and Ofentse Pitse. To think that the first show was sold out in just five hours is insane.
Shwa really would like to encourage people to always have their fingers on their phone screens to buy tickets because as they say, you snooze you lose.
At least the organisers were kind enough to add a second show. I always knew that people love Kabza but not to this extent. He surely is the king of amapiano.
Before the Symphonic, the King of amapiano released a 15-minute song featuring eight artists. Talk about a king being praised. Even the president doesn’t get that much love, I tell you.
Let me say the show was spectacular and if you’re a music lover you were going to enjoy the orchestra infused with amapiano.
This was a way to find out the potential of these vocalists who are featured in some of Kabza’s songs. Nokwazi with her bold voice opened the show with Mthunzi, singing the Kabza Chant and Shwa must put it out there that moi missed your voice.
I still feel you could have done better, though, in terms of your outfit because for a moment I thought it was Christmas already.
DJ Maphorisa or should I rather say Madumane also performed, shutting people up after there were rumours that he was beefing with Kabza.
I do, however, feel that it would have been nice to see him in a suit or formal wear. Kanti Thuli Phongolo what kind of girlfriend are you, mara? Dress your man up, sisi.
It was really amusing when he performed Bopha and Thuli was right there as part of the audience. Trigger, I tell you.
Some call Young Stunna the diva of amapiano but that guy is super talented, and before I forget, he loves the spotlight too, but Shwa just wants to say, “Keep doing your thing, man.”
I really love how you spiritually connect with your music.
Mawhoo how many times did I have to call you? Anyway, your outfits turned heads and I see you tried but those shoes, honey, were not the ones for the dresses you were wearing.
Shwa is concerned about Nkosazana Daughter because her outfit for the first night was not so pleasing, but baby girl said, ‘Hold on, I’m going to wear a dress the second night with my boobs almost all over the place.”
Nana, I am going to need you to dress your age to match that angelic voice of yours.
Njelic was busy being a superstar only for him to come home and get kicked out by his girlfriend, couldn’t you organise her a ticket, my broer?
I don’t know if the likes of Msaki and Ami Faku were too busy to be part of the show or what, but Shwa feels they were what was missing.
I am going to need Donald to take notes and get on with the times, nobody listens to that music you do anymore; jump onto the gravy train.
Shwa also spotted Sjava, Smash Afrika, Mpho Popps and Gift M
