The South African Police Service fails South Africans almost every day. If it is not illegal immigrants occupying buildings illegally, it’s something else.
Recently, British American Tobacco announced it would be closing a manufacturing plant in South Africa and focus on importing cigarettes.
People are shot and killed at or on their way to or from court in broad daylight. In extreme cases, the assailants enter the courthouse and murder whoever their
target is.
All the incidents listed above are examples of ways the police have failed us as citizens. Different kinds of criminals have seen the gaps in policing and are taking advantage of it. How is it that people coming in or out of court can be attacked in broad daylight and the police can’t stop the crime in progress?
If the South African public doesn’t stand up and confront the ineptitude of our police, we risk being a Haiti, where gangs run the show.
