GALXBOY founder and creative visionary Thatiso Dube has expressed his excitement about the brand’s expansion.
Described as a South African streetwear brand which has its roots in the underground and rebellious youth street culture that dominates the urban centres of Mzanzi, the brand is well known for its innovative designs and unique cultural fusion.
Dube, who founded the brand in 2008, said he is thrilled to bring GALXBOY to even more South Africans and fashion enthusiasts, having opened its doors to the vibrant community of Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront last month. It also launched in Emalahleni at the weekend.
He said Emalahleni provided the perfect backdrop for GALXBOY to connect with a new audience of fashion-forward individuals.
The expansion into V&A Waterfront was met with enthusiasm and marked a significant milestone for the brand.
With a dynamic vision for the future, the popular streetwear brand is now setting its sights on Polokwane and Durban as the next destinations on its nationwide expansion journey.
“Our journey has been one of creativity, innovation, and cultural expression. Emalahleni has a special place in my heart, so opening our now sixth store in the city was particularly moving. We also look forward to becoming a part of the fashion landscape in Durban and Polokwane over the next few weeks, where we can continue to merge our unique perspective with the diverse fashion cultures of these cities,” said Dube.
The upcoming openings in both Durban and Polokwane are expected to bring the brand’s cutting-edge fashion closer to even more South Africans. There are also talks about a pop-up at the Mall of Africa.
Currently opened physical stores are at CoSpace in Pretoria, Menlyn Mall, Mimosa Mall, V&A Waterfront, and Highveld Mall.
