Swiss International Air Lines launch Premium Economy Class

South African travellers are now spoilt for choice after the Swiss International Air Lines launched its Premium Economy Class on Thursday at the OR Tambo International Airport. The Premium Economy Class is a new addition to the airline’s existing Economy, Business and First Class cabins.

In the new Class, travellers will be able to have privacy, comfort and will be offered a selection of inflight culinary options. Travellers are welcomed with a refreshing elderberry welcome drink and the inflight meal choice extends to three hot dishes. All this is served on china tableware, with one dish from the Swiss Taste of Switzerland inflight culinary programme and a vegetarian option created by Hiltl, a renowned Swiss vegetarian restaurant.

Added to this will be a baggage allowance and priority boarding. The newly added class of travel is now available on the Boeing Airbus and the long haul flights.

Matthias Lefèvre, general manager at Swiss and the Lufthansa Group, said they are delighted to see the new class being offered between South Africa and Zurich.

“Our new class of travel meets a rising demand for more privacy, comfort and individuality aloft. And in adding it to our range of customer options, we are further strengthening our premium positioning in the growing leisure travel segment.”
